OFFICIAL VISIT BY THE ICA-ASIA PACIFIC REGIONAL DIRECTOR TO KOOP SAHABAT

Koperasi Sahabat Amanah Ikhtiar Malaysia Berhad (KOOP SAHABAT) had the honour of receiving an official visit from Mr. Balasubramanian G. Iyer, Regional Director of ICA-Asia Pacific, on 13 May 2026.

This visit formed part of the assessment process in relation to KOOP SAHABAT’s aspiration to become a member of ICA-Asia Pacific, in line with the organisation’s aspiration to strengthen its international visibility and expand its strategic network within the cooperative ecosystem at both regional and global levels. The visit also served as an important platform for the exchange of views on cooperative development, governance practices, potential collaborations, and the future direction of the cooperative movement in navigating the current economic landscape. KOOP SAHABAT extends its appreciation to ANGKASA for its support and nomination of KOOP SAHABAT as one of the cooperatives with the potential to be considered for membership in ICA-Asia Pacific.

The delegation was joined by representatives from ANGKASA, namely Ms. Noor Azlinn Zahariman, Manager of the International Relations Section, and Ms. Rikha Sudarto, Officer of the International Relations Section.

The delegation was welcomed by KOOP SAHABAT’s Top Leaders, led by Haji Mazri bin Mahmood, Group Chief Executive Officer, together with Mr. Mohd Suhairy bin Mat Sari, Chief Operating Officer; Ms. Nor Aziah binti Mokmin, General Manager of Finance & Administration; Hajah Hayati binti Asmari, General Manager of Corporate Management; as well as several department heads.

KOOP SAHABAT extends its sincere appreciation to Mr. Balasubramanian G. Iyer for his gracious official visit. It is hoped that this engagement will serve as a meaningful platform to further strengthen collaborative networks, exchange ideas, and reinforce institutional relations between KOOP SAHABAT, ANGKASA, and ICA-Asia Pacific.
