Membership

Individuals who are eligible to be members of Koperasi Sahabat Amanah Ikhtiar Malaysia Berhad are:

  1. Members and Friends of Amanah Ikhtiar Malaysia
  2. Employees of Amanah Ikhtiar Malaysia
  3. Board members of Amanah Ikhtiar Malaysia
  4. Employees of Koperasi Sahabat Amanah Ikhtiar Malaysia Berhad
  5. Employees of subsidiaries of Koperasi Sahabat Amanah Ikhtiar Malaysia Berhad
  • Fill in the Cash Membership Form which can be obtained on our corporate website: http://www.koopsahabat.my. You can get the form from the Regional Officer / Assistant Regional Officer, Corporate Headquarters, Registered Agents, as well as at the branches of Amanah Ikhtiar Malaysia
  • Pay the entry fee of RM30.00 (one-time fee)
  • Buy minimum cooperative shares of RM100.00
  • Application decision will go through the secretarial approval of Koperasi Sahabat Amanah Ikhtiar Malaysia Berhad

For members and friends of Amanah Ikhtiar Malaysia who have sufficient Simpanan Wajib of at least RM230.00, can apply for a deduction of their Simpanan Wajib of RM130.00 through the application form. You can obtain the application form from the Regional Officer / Assistant Regional Officer, Cooperative Headquarters, Registered Agents, as well as at the AIM branch offices.

However, for members and friends of Amanah Ikhtiar Malaysia who are still new and do not have sufficient Simpanan Wajib for membership registration, they can apply to become a member by making a cash payment via the Cooperative account as below:

      Next, members need to send the completed application form to Koop Sahabat’s address or a registered agent along with the following documents:

  • A copy of the payment receipt with an amount of RM130.00
  • A copy of the applicant’s identity card
  • Cooperative shares can be increased at any time with a minimum amount of RM10 in cash only. Members are free to decide how many shares to purchase.

Fill in the SMART 500 Share Addition Form which can be obtained on our corporate website at http://www.koopsahabat.my. You can also obtain the form from the Regional Officer / Assistant Regional Officer, Cooperative Headquarters, Registered Agents, and also at the branches of Amanah Ikhtiar Malaysia.

  • Add cooperative shares with a minimum of RM10. Enter the information in the account in the name of Koperasi Sahabat Amanah Ikhtiar Malaysia Berhad
  • Send the share addition application form, along with the proof of payment and a copy of the applicant’s identity card to Koop Sahabat’s address or Regional Officer / Assistant Regional Officer, Cooperative Headquarters, Registered Agents, as well as AIM branch offices
  • You can terminate your membership at Koop Sahabat by submitting a termination application. Once your membership is removed, your shares will be fully refunded. The refund process will take up to 6 months starting from the receipt of the application form at our headquarter.

Yes, you can become our member again but you must meet one of the following conditions:

    • Members and Friends of Amanah Ikhtiar Malaysia
    • Employees of Amanah Ikhtiar Malaysia
    • Board members of Amanah Ikhtiar Malaysia
    • Employees of Koperasi Sahabat Amanah Ikhtiar Malaysia Berhad
    • Employees of subsidiaries of Koperasi Sahabat Amanah Ikhtiar Malaysia Berhad
  • Fill in the Membership Termination Form which can be obtained on our corporate website at http://www.koopsahabat.my. You can also obtain the form from the Regional Officer / Assistant Regional Officer, Cooperative Headquarters, Registered Agents, and also at the branches of Amanah Ikhtiar Malaysia
  • Send the membership termination form, along with the required documents to our headquarter, Regional Officer, Assistant Regional Officer, or branches of Amanah Ikhtiar Malaysia
  • The payment process will take up to six (6) months starting from the receipt of the termination form at the Cooperative headquarters

Members of Koop Sahabat can reap various benefits including the following:

  1. Members will be given a price discount for services offered by Koop Sahabat following specific conditions set by hotels, retailers, and Islamic pawnbrokers.
  2. Members will enjoy an annual dividend decided at the Annual General Meeting of Delegates. The dividend payout will be announced annually.
  3. Eligible members will benefit from Koop CARE providing aids to the following circumstances:
  • Funeral expenses
  • Educational support
  • Disasters
  • Critical illness
  • Fill in the Koop Care Form which can be obtained on our corporate website at http://www.koopsahabat.my. You can also obtain the form from the Regional Officer / Assistant Regional Officer, Cooperative Headquarters, Registered Agents, and also at the nearest AIM branch offices
  • Include all necessary documents including your photo and a police report (if required)
  • Send the completed form, along with the required documents to Koop Sahabat’s address or Regional Officer / Assistant Regional Officer, or the nearest AIM branch offices
  • Application decision will go through the approval of the management at Koperasi Sahabat Amanah Ikhtiar Malaysia Berhad. The payment process will start within 6 months upon the receipt of the form

I-Lestari

Members of Koop Sahabat , Amanah Ikhtiar Malaysia , employees of Amanah Ikhtiar Malaysia & employees of Koperasi Sahabat Amanah Ikhtiar Malaysia Berhad

  • A personal financing product without   the collateral requirement, which is eligible to all members and employees of Koop Sahabat and Amanah Ikhtiar Malaysia.
  • This is also a successor product of the previous Koop Sahabat’s product known as I-Entrepreneur
  • The profit rate is calculated based on the flat rate
  • The maximum financing amount is RM300,000.00 and it is subject to eligibility
  • The maximum financing period is 10 years (120 months)

You can make repayment for i-Lestari through salary deduction or monthly auto-debit.

  • All members and employees of Koop Sahabat and AIM
  • Minimum share of RM 1,000
  • CCRISS & CTOS remark
  • Employees (Koop Sahabat members): 60% of wage/salary
  • Two (2) guarantors (1 government employee and 1 family member with fixed income)
  • Over 80% of attendance record at MP (AIM)
  • Have a viable project
  • Have business registration
  • Approval is subject to customer risk reports, guarantors, and individuals carrying out the client’s projects such as the husband
  • Preference is given to members who have a business account supervised by a certified company secretary

Yes, you need two(2) guarantors for i-Lestari application: one(1) government employee and one(1) family member with fixed income.

  • This product is a Shariah-compliant personal financing product based on the Tawarruq concept
  • Under this concept, Koop Sahabat will buy the commodity at the Purchase Price and then sell the commodity to our members at the Sale Price (Total Financing Amount + Profit) with deferred payment
  • The Purchase Price is based on the approved financing amount
  • The Sale Price is based on the member’s deferred payment amount according to the agreed payment schedule
  • Koop Sahabat as the seller will act as a representative on behalf of members to sell the commodity at the Purchase Price to a third party for cash
  • The Purchase Price and Sale Price are as per the First Schedule in the set of application documents
  • The rate of financing profit charged is 7.00% (for applications from 1 to 3 years); and 8.00% (for applications from 4 to 10 years). The rates are calculated annually at a fixed rate (flat-rate) according to the approved financing period
  • Profit calculation is based on the “Rule 78” or “Sum of the Years’ Digits” method
  • Tabung Khairat is an internal mechanism that serves as an alternative to Takaful
  • Processing fee of RM100.00 incurred for each approved financing application
  • Two-month installments in advance for the security deposit. Subsequent installments are made through salary deductions

As an illustration :-

  • Total Financing (P) RM 50,000.00; Profit Rate (i) 7.0% per annum (flat); Duration (n) 5 years or 60 month
  • Approved financing up to RM 50,000.00
  • Installment fee: RM 1,125 per month
  • Sale Price to Koop Sahabat up to RM 67,500.00

Installment payments are made either through salary deductions by the employer or until the Deferred Sales Price is fully settled. Inform Koop Sahabat of any changes of personal details such as mailing address to ensure effective correspondence until the Deferred Sale Price is fully settled.

The initial settlement charge incurred at 1.0% of the existing financing balance, i.e. the remaining Sales Price after deducting Ibra ’(rebate). The initial settlement charge does not apply if the member makes a settlement through overlapping financing with Koop Sahabat.

  • Compensation charge (Ta’widh) of 1.0% per annum of the outstanding monthly amount will be charged
  • Koop Sahabat reserves the right to deduct members’ shares or fees if all efforts to get the members to settle the outstanding Deferred Sales Price balance are unsuccessful
  • Koop Sahabat also reserves the right to claim outstanding balances and other charges through legal proceedings

Sahabat Ar Rahnu

Instant cash financing services for personal needs to both Koop Sahabat’s members or non-members. Golds are used as collaterals and are subject to terms and conditions.

The process of getting financing from Sahabat Ar Rahnu is fast and easy For Malaysians, you will only need to bring your identity card and golds or jewelry to be deposited. For non-Malaysians, a valid passport and golds or jewelry to be deposited are required.

Sahabat Ar Rahnu offers a financing margin of up to 70% of the Marhun value. However, the SAR may amend the margin limit depending on specific circumstances.

  • Jewelry with or without gems
  • Gold ingots or wafers
  • Gold coins, bullions or dinars
  • Valuable items approved by the Board Members and Shariah Panels

You must repay the financing amount and the monthly interest (Upah Simpan) of the collateral The Upah Simpan must be paid upon the expiration date of the contract, collateral redemption, or extension of Sahabat Ar Rahnu.

Payments by debit or credit cards are not accepted We only accept cash now.

Yes, you can. You can choose to make the payment every month or in full amount upon redemption You can also make installment payments with different terms: daily, weekly, or monthly, with no minimum amount required.

Yes. You can send someone to do so and we will record the person’s personal information for reference and security.

You need to visit our branch or office where you have performed the transaction and we will resolve the issue for you.
